I specialize in multicultural counseling, cross-cultural issues and bi-racial couples.

About Emily.

As a multicultural first generation immigrant and Third Culture Kid, my therapy practice was born out of the lessons from my own experience of living across many worlds. As a therapist, I am driven by a passion to help people understand and situate themselves in this increasingly complex world, to make meaning of their experiences, and to embrace their uniqueness.

I’m a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I completed by Master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and trained extensively as a relational and psychodynamic therapist at the Golden Gate Integral Counseling Center. I’ve completed somatic training with the Hakomi Institute, EFT couples training with the Couples Center and Empathi and DBT training with the SF DBT Center. I’ve also been trained in the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique, and completed a Gestalt residency program at the Esalen Institute.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 10 years as a co-founder and in leadership team positions working with changemakers, thought leaders and businesses to drive social impact at scale. I’ve worked with brands including Google, Microsoft, Nike, Verizon and Visa and foundations such as Rockefeller Foundation, MacArthur, Robert Wood Johnson, and more.
